A painting for those who have a "to be read" pile longer than their lifespan. In "The Reader" the viewer notices an overgrown garden that is now climbing ruins and windows left from lifetimes before. Thunder is brewing, and a wind picks up. The leaves rustle as the viewer walks closer to the main windows. Seemingly made from mist, an apparition appears. It is a girl...a reader in her own right. It seems she is comfortable here, and familiar with the space as if she'd been there long before they fell to disrepair. Disappearing and reappearing the ghost sits unbothered by the nature and the storm rolling in. Her only business left in this world is to finish her stack of books, We as the viewers spectate a spector of worlds beyond her reach.
